Join us for a free screening of “Disruption”, a new, fast-paced cinematic journey through the wild world of climate change: the science, the politics, the solutions, and the stories that define this crisis at this pivotal point in human history.

The movie is about an hour long, and after we watch it we’ll have a discussion about what we can all do together on this important issue.

When: Wednesday, November 18 at 7pm

Where: Emmanuel Episcopal Church
       Bryant and Main Streets
         WAKEFIELD, MA. 01880

Here you will find current news (well, as of November 2015, there will soon again be current news!) and links to various flyers, as well as a link to our blog, where you will find posts and comments about current and past projects, all kinds of climate and environmental resources, and events.

The Wakefield Farmers Market is a project of Wakefield Climate Action Project.

We could really use some new volunteers, including those willing to take a Board/leadership role. Please email us at info@wakefieldcap.org to learn more.

NEWSFLASH: Click HERE for how to recycle styrofoam. It is not accepted via Wakefield recyling but the Refoamit website lists ongoing and one-time recycling events in the Boston area that accept styrofoam. Note: Most, if not all say NO PEANUTS and refer folks to local mailing facilities.

On June 26, 2010, WCAP was at Kings Beach in Lynn at a Hands Across the Sand event! At noon that day, participants held hands, symbolizing our stance for protecting our shorelines and saying YES to Clean Energy and NO to offshore drilling. Click HERE for the the coverage of the event in the Wakefield Observer.

Board member Sherri Carlson spearheaded the WCAP response to an editorial in the January 4, 2010 edition of the Wakefield Daily Item (editorial not available on the Item website) that was reprinted from an article originally published by the Jacksonville Daily Times on Deceber 30, 2009. If the former link does not work, click HERE for a pdf of the original article.

Click HERE to see the WCAP response to the editorial. And, thank you, Sherri! While most of us helped with critiques and comments, Sherri did 99.99% of the work.
